(REGAL, SOULFUL, POWERFUL, AND LYRICAL are the words that best describe singer/songwriter Ebony “KARMA” Dior. She was born a cultural mix of African American, Irish, and Mexican Indian (Aztec). She was born Ebony Carolyn Bankston in St. Clair, MI on November 7th, though she insists her hometown is Port Huron, MI. Her music is thought-provoking and powerfully cinematic. Something intruiging about her name is: "Ebony" means "Dark Woods" and Carolyn means "Song of Happiness". So her name literally means "a song of happiness in the dark woods". Ebony “KARMA” Dior elegantly unites classic soul with the new age sound of today's R&B. The dynamic singer/songwriter spins stories of love, life, heartbreak, and redemption. In fact, Ebony "KARMA" Dior has rolled out incredible independent hit records from her critically acclaimed mixtape-LP/fusion entitled "The Epoch Volume 1: The Red Queen" with hits like, "Dirty Knees", "Save Me", and "Your Love" featuring CENTRIC's "From the Bottom Up" star Sara Stokes (airs Saturdays at 10pm EST) and Emily Torres of Lilac Lungs (The Ellen Show), and the hit single "A Shallow Bed with No Roses”. This artist is a critical success and is receiving a great amount of attention from notable FM, Satellite, and Internet radio, all over the world.
Ebony has a unique sound, unlike anything we have heard in this industry. She has an alto drawl similar to Faith Evans but a rock edge like Amy Lee. She possesses boundless energy and relentless drive. She creates music that inspires others to follow their dreams amidst many obstacles. But, Ms. Dior is an exceptionally determined personality. She will soon be earning her doctorate in Business Intelligence and she is the owner of her own Indie label and Public Relations Firm, Artists Music International Records and the Artists Music International PR Firm.
