FELLAVELI AP was born Eric L. Bryant Jr. in Gary, IN. At a young age he relocated to Pontiac, MI. It was in Pontiac that he became attached to the surrounding music of urban life and developed a talent to create his own art. From a very young age he always had an inkling that music would be his calling.
He grew up listening to the rawness of the old school hip hop and classic funk and R&B greats. FELLAVELI AP found the music to be well arranged and exceptionally relateable. He began writing at 11 and though he is young, he surprisingly cites artists like Chuck D, Rakim, Tupac and KRS-1 as being game changers for him. His favorite artist is O’Shea Jackson, also known as the legendary Ice Cube. He clearly remembers walking around school rapping “Get me on the court and I’m trouble...” out loud. His friends heard sports talk, but in his head "Today Was A Good Day" equated to his possibilities of obtaining his dreams. "At first, I was using my music to cope with my few tragedies at the time and it helped me develop a solid mindset. However, after I let a couple people hear my story I became known as a lyrical emcee with a great deal of potential. The fact that others believed in me made it easy for me to pursue greater goals with my talents. Between middle school and high school I would flop back and forth over choosing music or sports and eventually the music in won. Now I’m consistently working to improve and create art for others. My uncle is one of my greatest mentors. Once he told me, “Fella, it’s all about understanding. You can have the best talent in the world, but if they can’t understand you, what good is it”. From that point on I made it my mission to share my story as well as others with the rest of the world."
With the help of his 2 childhood best friends, FELLAVELLI APand his crew released their first EP, "Crunch Time Vol. 1", in November of 2011. Their goal was to basically get their local community to vibe to good music. They gave out 200 copies, all free. From that point on. others became eager to hear more from FELLAVELI AP on topics like politics and his personal beliefs.
With songs like "Medicated", "I’m Back", and "Worse of the Worst", you can get a better understanding of the versatility he brings to the culture of hip hop. As an underground artist, it’s much easier for him to speak freely and openly about his views and opinions on certain subjects.
FELLAVELI AP is expected to make waves in the industry this year, and his millenial movement will usher him right into stardom.
