THE MOTHER. THE WIFE. THE ACTRESS. THE SINGER. THE MOGUL.
“Right now I’m in a better place and I feel like I’m a Stronger Woman”, actress Sara Stokes, is quoted as saying in her infamous interview with Kontrol Magazine.
Sara Stokes is a stunning 5'5 and though small in stature, she possesses a work ethic that is unparellel to most. Whether it was walking tiredlessly for her dreams in Brooklyn on the MTV reality hit ‘Making The Band 2’ in 2002, or hosting "The House of Divas' and her own radio show on The Playboy Channel, Sara continues to break barriers and is setting the bar high for her return to the big screen, television and music.
Currently, she is the star of CENTRIC's ‘From The Bottom Up,’ which is a collaboration by executive producer Queen Latifah and creator Nicci Gilbert, Sara is once again proving that her strength and tenacity is bold and incredibly strong.
Born Sara Anne Miller on June 1, 1977 in Port Huron, MI, Sara began singing at the age of 10. She fell in love with the resounding sound of the voice of Mariah Carey and many other powerhouses. Studying their techniques and savoir faire, she slowly began to emerge from her shell as a beautiful, kind, and room commanding entertainer. Throughout the years, Sara has kept busy running marathons, getting her aesthetics license, acting in several movies, modeling, writing her biography, becoming an activist, growing as a wife, and raising her three beautiful children.
Sara Stokes returned to television in Season 2 of BET’s reality series, ‘From The Bottom Up’, on Saturday, October 29 at 10p/9C. ‘From The Bottom Up’ is a six-episode docu-series following the journey of five women striving to change their lives, rebuild their families and live their dreams after falling from grace. “Nicci is just a longtime friend of mine, I worked with her a long time ago, probably more than 10 years ago and you know it just came back around where I was at a different time in my life and I was pretty much all over the place. A year went by and you just have that down season and she just happened to be doing a show. She was the creator of the show and my PR that I was working with Kenneth Robinson and Regina Daniels just spoke my name to her and she was like “Sara, Oh I love Sara. The REST IS HISTORY.” Indeed.
Be sure to keep up with Sara Stokes by tuning in to the second season premiere of, “From The Bottom Up” on Saturday, October 29, 10p/9C. You can also check out her latest single, “Fragile Hearts” available now on ITUNES for purchase. Sara also has her own label, New Life Entertainment which she has been working on independently and is looking for fresh new talent.
“I feel I have grown so much and I’m not where I was 10 or even 5 years ago. I feel like such a changed woman. I’m in a better place and I’m stronger. I’m figuring out life because I don’t feel as if anybody ever has it all together. I’m just showing the world that no matter what your bottom is, you can come out of it and you can still keep it moving and you can rise up and still conquer your dreams or whatever else may be. Even if it’s just being with your family and rekindling your relationship." -SARA STOKES
